Karel Vesely

Karel Vesely graduated at Masaryk University Brno in 2001 (English studies & Philosophy) and since 2007 he makes his living as a freelance music journalist writing about contemporary popular music for various Czech media such as an internet daily Aktualne.cz, Čro - Radio Wave broadcasting or Nový prostor and Živel magazines. In 2010 he published a book Hudba ohně (Fire music) about the history of radical afroamerican music from jazz to dubstep. He also edited and co-wrote Kmeny (Tribes) about contemporary youth subcultures. He lives with his family in the town of Znojmo.
