2012 Programme: Under the Spotlight

A chance to shine fresh light on issues old and new.  Were the dark ages really dark?  Has Obama lost his shine so much he may lose the presidency?  Is there too much exposure given to what was once hidden, from sexual smut to pornographic novels?  Meanwhile is indulging in legal substances from cigarettes to alcohol, treated alike an illicit activity, to be hidden from view?  Are the hidden mysteries of what forms character now brought into the open by science? Is the secret of pop music, so in the limelight, that actually it’s lost its shine?

Going nowhere? Staying local in a global village

"I thought the Battle of Ideas was wonderful. Especially the extent and quality of audience participation. I can't imagine how I missed this exciting forum for exchange of ideas in the past. I will certainly not miss another one and look forward already to 2012 Battle of Ideas."
