Dr Sarah McMath
programme director for Competition 2017, head of strategy, Thames Water

Sarah McMath is currently programme director for Competition 2017 at Thames Water, responsible for ensuring the company is prepared for the opening of the retail non-household market. Sarah is also head of strategy at Thames Water leading its strategic business planning and corporate strategy functions. With a doctorate in environmental engineering, Sarah began her career at Thames Water as a scientist. She is now one of the company’s senior leaders.

Sarah passionately believes in delivering great customer service and sponsors the Customer Challenge Group, an external panel she established to challenge Thames Water on behalf of consumers.  She also acts as a mentor for a number of women in the organisation.

Outside of Thames, Sarah is a trustee of the Don McMath Foundation – a charity which provides free schooling to children in the Gambia.
