Sujata Sen is Director East India for British Council and has led on social justice programmes for the British Council in India. Before joining the British Council, she was a journalist with a daily newspaper with responsibilities for the weekend supplements and leader writing. She wrote a weekly and later fortnightly column for many years and has written for various publications. Prior to her stint as journalist, she was a publisher’s editor, and published several hundred books. Just out of university she joined the Indian Medical Association as Assistant Editor. She is a trustee and member of various social and educational organisations. As a true Bengali, her interests are wide-ranging, including politics, films, literature, theatre, sports and architecture so that she can stand up to the label of an argumentative Indian. |
