Since 2012 Roger has been Chair of Build on Belief (BoB) a mutual-aid and self help charity for those with drug and alcohol problems in West-London. He was previously Chief Executive of the UK Drug Policy Commission since it started in early 2007 and completed its work at the end of 2012. Currently acting as a consultant to the UKDPC to help promote its findings. Before that, he was Chief Executive of Crime Concern (2003-6), Chief Executive of DrugScope (1994-2003), Director of Education & Training services for Nacro (1982-1989, and Head of Planning, Research & Development for Social Service & Housing services in the London Borough of Redbridge (1979-82). Roger was a member of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs between 1997 & 2004; the Criminal Justice Council between 2002 & 2007 and currently is a member of the Scottish Drug Strategy Delivery Commission since 2009. Roger has also acted as Advisor to the Local Government Association and the Association of Police Authorities for England and Wales and has been a member of a number of inquiries including: a Joint Royal Colleges Working Group on Addictions; a BMA Advisory Group on drug & alcohol treatment & the Chief Medical Officer’s advisory group on clinical guidance for the treatment of drug dependency. |
