![]() | Prof. dr. Marli Huijer studied medicine (MD 1982, general practitioner 1985) and philosophy in Amsterdam (1991, cum laude). She obtained a doctorate in Philosophy of Medicine in 1996, with a dissertation on Aids and Michel Foucault’s aesthetics of existence. Since 2008, she is appointed as (extraordinary) Professor in Philosophy of Culture, Politics and Religion at the Faculty of Philosophy, Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition, she works as Associate Professor in Philosophy at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. She is supervising a group of researchers who study the transformations in time in contemporary culture. She has published dozens of national and international articles, books and book contributions. As per a multidisciplinary and broad approach, she traverses a range of domains in philosophy, time studies and biomedical sciences. Maybe I do? Marriage in the modern era
