Alex Benson

Alex’s background is in rave promotion, founding the Bloc festival in 2007 which brought thousands of people together in secular transcendence ceremonies annually for a decade.

In 2012, he founded a permanent home for Bloc in a disused furniture factory in Hackney Wick. Founding and maintaining one of the last late-licensed venues in London, he then acquired leasehold interests in under-utilised ex-industrial buildings surrounding the club. These buildings were renovated to become workspace for East London’s creative industries, and now comprise a community of affordable workspace for 50 businesses over 25,000 square feet.
