 | Anno Hecker was born in Cologne. After studying sports science and history, he worked as a trainee at the German news agency dpd and then as a free-lance journalist for the German national radio network Deutschlandfunk and daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung. He joined the sports editorial staff at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in May 1991. His work has focused on Formula 1, doping issues and sports policy.
